Standard

after a super fun visit in pittsburgh we drove to dc and immediately headed for the national museum of african american history and culture which was amazing!!

we highly highly recommend it!! we stayed with our dear friends from college nick and jessica who taught my children how to catch fireflies which they were amazed by!!

the next morning we headed to see the pentagon 9/11 memorial which was so peaceful and serene

and then it was off to mt vernon to see george washington’s home,

carter and halle loved watching the blacksmith and hear how tools were made in the 1700s.

that night nick and jessica purchased maryland blue crabs for dinner which were so delicious…and hard work to open! 🙂

dc was a blast!! i’m so glad we decided to stop in dc on this trip. next stop: philly!!
